The Emperor at Yamuguchi

1948. Emperor Hirohito was on an Imperial visit. Yamaguchi was on his itinerary.

Our Officer commanding, Major Keith Mosheim (from Remuera), gave us permission to go and view. He asked us to show no reaction. Any request our OC made we all respected and never let him down. He gave us a lot of leeway in many ways which gave us much latitude.

So while the Yamaguchi Mayor and Officials were bowing and everything else to the Emperor, we just stood back - took photos - then departed.
